Free parking for Llanymynech Rock and wildlife trails
This free, Shropshire Wildlife Trustmanaged gravel lot on Underhill Lane serves Llanymynech Rock Nature Reserve and adjoining wildlife habitats. The unmarked facility accommodates approximately 30 vehicles on a first-come basis; open dawn until dusk; no overnight parking. There is no lighting or CCTV; daytime visits only. A large trust information board at the entrance outlines the geological significance of Llanymynech Rock, trail maps for the 2 km circular reserve path, and wildlife-spotter tips (e.g., peregrine falcons, rare orchids). Benches and picnic tables are provided near the lot perimeter overlooking limestone cliffs. Pedestrian paths lead directly to the rock face (0.05 km) and onward to the Offas Dyke Path (0.5 km). Seasonal guided geological walks reduce capacity by 5; signage directs drivers to the Pant village lay-by (1 km). Volunteer conservation crews conduct quarterly habitat management and litter picks monthly.
