Free coastal parking for sea wall walks and birdwatching
Slaughden Sea Wall Car Park is a council-managed unpaved facility serving the coastal path and birdwatching hides. It provides approximately 25 marked bays, including two disabled-access spaces located adjacent to the entrance gate. The gravel-and-grass surface is lightly graded for drainage and inspected quarterly; minor washouts and ruts are filled within 48 hours. No lighting or CCTV is installed to preserve the natural landscape and dark-sky conditions; visitors are advised to park only during daylight hours. Pedestrian trails lead directly to the sea wall promenade (1 minute walk) and to the RSPB Minsmere reserve footpath (5 minutes). Operating hours are sunriseĀsunset daily; no parking charges apply. Monthly litter clearance and boundary hedge trimming maintain a tidy environment. No EV charging facilities are available; nearest public charger is at Fort Green Car Park, a 10-minute drive away.
