Free residential parking with accessible bays, lit walkways, and close walk to Jaywick amenities.
St Christophers Way Car Park is a council-operated surface lot serving residents of the Jaywick neighbourhood. The site provides 60 sealed asphalt bays, including three accessible spaces positioned adjacent to the footpath leading to the community centre and play areas. Parking is free of charge but restricted to four-hour maximum stays during daytime hours to discourage long-term use. Solar-powered LED bollard lights line pedestrian routes from dusk until 9:00 pm for safe egress. No CCTV is installed due to the low-frequency usage; however, community wardens conduct evening patrols during peak summer months. Covered information boards display local bus timetables for the 74 and 88 services to Clacton and Colchester, as well as community event listings. Pedestrian pathways link directly to nearby shops, cafés, and the seafront within a five-minute walk. Quarterly maintenance includes line repainting, pothole repairs, and litter clearance to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and visitors.
