Steel Rigg Car Park serves as the main gateway to the Steel Rigg–Housesteads section of Hadrian’s Wall Path, offering 100 gravel and grassed spaces plus three disabled bays. Managed by English Heritage, it features an information kiosk, waymarked trails, and interpretive panels on Roman military history. Pay-and-display is in operation (coins, cards, mobile pay) with tariffs from £3.50 for 4 hours to £7 all day. Open daily from 08:00 to sunset (varies seasonally), with ranger-led guided walk details available on site.
