Pay & Display Parking for Peak District Access
Stony Ridge Car Park is a surface-level rural facility located off the A625, providing access to the edge of the Peak District and the village of Grindleford. The lot offers approximately 40 gravel-surfaced bays, including two accessible spaces near the gated entrance. Operating 7 am–7 pm daily, parking is pay-and-display; machines accept coins and contactless cards, with a daily tariff. No CCTV coverage or lighting is provided, so daytime visits are recommended for safety. A marked footpath leads directly from the lot to nearby hiking trails, rock climbing areas, and the River Derwent within a two-minute walk. No direct bus service serves this lot; users arrive by private vehicle or bicycle. Covered cycle racks accommodating six bicycles are provided under a shelter at the entrance to encourage sustainable access. Seasonal gravel maintenance ensures stable ground conditions and minimizes mud after rain.
