Stuart Road Car Park is a council-operated, tarmacked facility located on Stuart Road, Pontefract (WF8 4PQ), serving Pontefract General Infirmary and nearby residential streets. The lot accommodates around 120 vehicles, including eight accessible bays near the pedestrian exit to Stuart Road. Tariffs are £1.00 per hour, maximum stay 4 hours MondaySaturday 08:0018:00; Sundays and bank holidays are free. LED lighting columns provide illumination from dusk until midnight, and CCTV cameras cover all circulation aisles. A sealed footpath leads directly to the hospital main entrance (0.05 miles), offering step-free access, and onward to Pontefract town centre (0.4 miles) via safe sidewalks. The asphalt surface was resurfaced in 2022 with fresh bay markings and speed bumps; drainage gullies around the perimeter prevent pooling during heavy rain. Regular patrols by Wakefield Council enforcement officers ensure compliance.
