Sylvan Car Park (Long Stay) is a High Peak Borough Counciloperated tarmac facility on Spring Gardens, serving Buxton residents and long-term town centre visitors. The lot offers 100 marked bays, including eight Blue Badge spaces near the pedestrian exit and two motorcycle bays. It operates 24 hours; flat-rate charges of £4.00 per day apply via machines accepting coins and contactless; no overnight restrictions except for maintenance closures. LED floodlights ensure full illumination until dawn, and CCTV cameras monitor all driving lanes. Pedestrian exits lead directly to Spring Gardens shops (50 m), Buxton Youth Club (100 m), and local bus stops. Two 22 kW EV fast chargers are available at £0.35 per kWh, billed via QR code. Seasonal long-stay permit holders have dedicated bays marked in green, reducing general availability by 30%; overflow signage directs drivers to Pavilion Gardens Car Park (0.8 km). Maintenance teams repaint bay lines quarterly, clear litter daily, and perform surface repairs biannually.
