Tatham Street Car Park is a small secured surface lot at 56–58 Tatham Street in the Hendon district of Sunderland (postcode SR1 2QB). Managed by Sunderland City Council, it comprises 60 marked spaces on a tarmac surface, including three Blue Badge bays and two motorcycle bays. The lot is gated and locked between midnight and 6 am; hours of operation are 6 am–midnight Monday to Sunday. Payment is by Pay & Display machines accepting coins and contactless; tariff is £1.20 per hour with a daily maximum of £8.00. CCTV cameras cover the entire perimeter, and a wander guard patrols on weekend evenings. Pedestrian exits lead to University of Sunderland’s Kayll Road building (0.3 km) and nearby student residences, making it heavily used by students during term.
