Secure ANPR Parking for Residents & Visitors at The Barberry
The Barberry Car Park serves guests and residents of The Barberry residential and outpatient facilities within the University Hospital Birmingham Biomedical Campus. This secure surface lot contains approximately 100 parking spaces, including ten reserved disabled bays adjacent to the main entrance. Access is managed via ANPR technology for staff and registered residents, while visitors to outpatient clinics receive a QR-code pass at reception to raise the barrier. The car park is open 24/7 for registered vehicles; occasional visitors can park free for up to two hours with a validated ticket. Beyond two hours, a modest fee applies, payable via pay-on-foot machines located in the buildings foyer. High-definition CCTV cameras cover all areas, and regular security patrols ensure a safe environment. EV users have access to four Tesla and universal charging points located on the west end of the lot. The site is within a five-minute walk of the Institute for Translational Medicine and several public bus routes on Vincent Drive, providing frequent service to Birmingham City Centre and Selly Oak. Bicycle racks are also provided near the pedestrian entrance for staff and visitors cycling to the campus.
