Free community parking with accessible bays, illuminated walkways, and direct access to Haverhill Meadows.
The Meadows Car Park is a free, council-operated facility located off Cavendish Road (unnamed spur) and serves visitors to The Meadows recreation ground and nearby leisure complex. It provides 50 sealed tarmac bays, including two accessible spaces adjacent to the pedestrian walkway leading to the sports fields. No parking charges apply, but the lot is locked at 10 pm to prevent overnight stays. Solar-powered LED bollard lights line the pedestrian routes from dusk until lock-up, and two CCTV cameras monitor the entrance for security during opening hours. Covered wooden benches and a small information kiosk at the entrance display local sports schedules, park rules, and health and safety guidelines. Pedestrian footpaths lead directly to the Haverhill Leisure Centre and skatepark within a three-minute walk. Maintenance is conducted monthly, including line repainting, litter removal, and seasonal grass cutting around the parking perimeter.
