Coastal village parking with accessible bays, pay-and-display, and walkable access to Thorpeness Meare.
Thorpeness Public Car Park is a Suffolk Coastal District Councilmanaged facility serving the seaside village of Thorpeness. The lot offers 120 sealed tarmac bays, including six accessible spaces located adjacent to the ramp leading to the villages boating lake and meare. Pay-and-display machines accept coins and contactless cards; tariffs are £2 for up to three hours, £4 for a full day during summer (AprilSeptember), and £1 during off-peak months. Solar-powered LED lampposts illuminate all aisles from dusk until 10:00 pm, and three CCTV cameras monitor entrances, exits, and accessible bays. Covered information kiosks display local tide times, village map, and bus schedules for the 76 service to Aldeburgh. Pedestrian pathways link directly to the Meare Boat House, gift shops, and The Hoste Arms pub within a two-minute walk. Monthly maintenance includes line repainting, pothole repairs, and litter clearance to preserve the scenic coastal environment.
