Total Car Parks on Axial Way is a multi-purpose surface facility operated by a private parking management company, serving employees and visitors to the adjacent industrial and retail estate. The site comprises 120 sealed asphalt bays, including six accessible spaces located nearest to the main commuter shuttle pick-up point. Access is controlled by a barrier that lifts upon payment at the on-site pay-and-display machines, which accept coins, contactless cards, and mobile payments; tariffs are £1 per hour with a daily cap of £5. High-luminosity LED lampposts illuminate all driving lanes from dusk until midnight, and two CCTV cameras monitor the entrance and accessible bays for security. Covered pedestrian pathways connect directly to the shuttle bus stop servicing Colchester town centre every 30 minutes. Covered signage at the entrance displays lot rules, shuttle schedules, and nearby amenities such as the Tesco Extra and fast-food outlets within a three-minute walk. Monthly maintenance includes line repainting, pothole repair, and litter collection to maintain a safe, professional environment.
