Free country parking for Watermead trails and hides
Located off the northern reedbeds of Watermead Country Park, this gravel car park provides approximately 80 spaces, including five clearly marked disabled bays near the birdwatching hides. Parking is free year-round; a donation box supports park maintenance. No lighting is installed, so visitors are advised to use the site during daylight hours only. Pedestrian access leads directly to lakeside trails, picnic areas, and fishing platforms within a one-minute walk. Informational boards at the entrance display wildlife guides, trail maps, and safety notices. Grounds maintenance includes seasonal grass cutting, regular litter patrols, and occasional repair of footpaths and duckboards.
