Free parking for Wroxeter Roman City historic site
Wroxeter Roman City Car Park is a council-operated tarmac surface lot located immediately outside the Wroxeter Historic Site entrance. The facility offers 80 marked bays, including six Blue Badge spaces and one motorcycle bay. It operates 8 am6 pm daily; no pay-and-display is required, but visitors are asked to make a voluntary donation. LED lamp columns provide limited illumination until dusk, and CCTV cameras monitor the entrance only. Pedestrian exits lead directly to the sites visitor centre (0.05 km), café (0.1 km), and reconstructed Roman buildings. Benches and picnic tables are provided near the lot perimeter overlooking the remains of the Roman Basilica. Seasonal guided archaeology tours reduce capacity by 15; signage directs overflow parking to the village hall lot (1 km). Maintenance crews repaint bay lines each spring and clear litter weekly.
