York Street Garage is a privately operated multi-storey car park situated directly behind Coventry Cathedral precinct, providing 280 parking bays across four levels. Managed by a national parking operator, it features 16 disabled bays on Level 1 adjacent to lifts and stairwells. Entry is via an ANPR-controlled barrier on York Street; casual users take a ticket at entry and pay at ground-floor machines accepting cash, card, and mobile pay. Real-time bay-availability signage is mounted at the entrance. LED interior lighting ensures clear visibility, while 24/7 CCTV covers all ramps, bays, and pedestrian exits. Ceiling clearance is 2.1 m with marked low-clearance zones near vent ducts. Pedestrian egress leads to the cathedral grounds (2 minutes) and Broadgate shopping area (5 minutes). Two Type 2 EV charging bays are located on Level 2, accessible via pre-booking. The structure undergoes monthly barrier maintenance and quarterly lift servicing; surface cleaning is performed weekly to remove debris. Rates include hourly, daily, and overnight packages, with discounts for Cathedral staff.
