Situated behind Jackson Street shops, this 80-space pay-and-display surface lot serves Gatesheads retail district and public amenities. Operating 8 am8 pm daily, tariffs are £1 per hour, capped at £6 per day, payable at two coin-and-card machines on site or via PayByPhone. Two accessible bays (3.6 m wide) are positioned adjacent to the pedestrian ramp leading to Gateshead Post Office. LED column lighting provides coverage after dusk, while two CCTV cameras monitor the entirety of the car park from corner poles. The asphalt surface was overlaid in late 2023, and crisp bay markings were applied in early 2024. Seasonal flower beds line the northern boundary, providing an aesthetic buffer, and weekly maintenance inspections include litter clearance and minor pothole repairs. Pedestrian refuge islands with tactile paving facilitate safe crossing to nearby cafes and clothing stores.
