Gateway Plaza Car Park is a medium-sized surface-level public facility located off Westgate, serving the Barnsley town center and adjacent retail outlets. The lot provides approximately 180 tarmac-surfaced bays, including nine accessible spaces situated close to the pedestrian entrance. Operating 24/7, parking is pay-and-display; machines accept coins, banknotes, and contactless payments. CCTV cameras monitor entry, exit, and all parking aisles continuously; LED floodlighting ensures visibility at night for shoppers and employees working late hours. Covered pedestrian walkways lead directly to major retailers such as Next, Boots, and Primark within a two-minute walk. Local bus stops on Eldon Street provide frequent services to Sheffield and Wakefield. EV charging is available via six rapid units located near the lots eastern boundary. Covered cycle racks accommodating up to 30 bicycles are provided near the main entrance to encourage sustainable travel.
