Goyt Valley Car Park is a free, Peak District National Park Authoritymanaged gravel lot on Throwley Road, serving outdoor enthusiasts exploring the Goyt Valley, Errwood Hall, and Buxton Country Park. The unmarked facility accommodates approximately 60 vehicles on a first-come basis; it operates from dawn until dusk; no overnight parking is permitted. There is no lighting or CCTV; visitors should park during daylight hours. An information board at the entrance provides detailed maps of the 5 km Buxton Old Road to Errwood Hall trail, historical notes on Goyt Valley lead mining, and wildlife-spotting tips (e.g., dippers on the River Goyt). Benches and picnic tables overlook the scenic valley. Pedestrian trails lead directly to the Errwood Hall footpath (200 m) and onto Buxton Country Park (3 km). Seasonal fell races and charity walks reduce capacity by 15%; overflow parking is directed to Errwood Hall Car Park (2 km) with a shuttle bus on event days. Maintenance crews clear litter monthly and inspect erosion control measures quarterly.
